ada Brown Designs
The name Ada Brown is my Great Grandmother’s. My love of embroidery came originally from the many tablecloths and napkins we owned, that had been created by her, as I was growing up. I have been embroidering since I was young but started making it my sole activity in early 2018. I love to embroider onto beautiful colourful linen using 4ply cotton yarn.
Embroidery doesn’t have to be complicated. My style is on a larger scale than traditional embroidery. All my designs are intentionally simplistic, using only a few basic stitches. A key element of all my work is the use of colour and the reproduction of natural images into a loose geometric format. I am often told embroidery is too time consuming and too difficult, I don’t believe it has to be and I hope to encourage more people to take up this lovely, relaxing art.

Chromatic Yarns
Hannah is the owner of Chromatic Yarns. There are 2 key parts to the business, and both are unique! She creates delicate, lightweight stitch markers, which she makes by sewing beads together one-by-one to make up their design. They’re functional on both knitting and crochet projects and don’t pull the project at all as they’re not heavy. She also dyes yarn inspired by various nerdy influences and things that she loves. Chromatic Yarns is known for bright, vibrant colourways, which are heavy on the speckles.

Dina’s Home of Crafts
Dina’s Home of Crafts has been an awesome adventure beginning in August 2014.
Behind the neatly stacked shelves of luxurious yarns, fibre and all sorts of accessories stands Dina, a rather shy girl from Latvia. If you are looking for an advice for what works best for your project, she is the person to go to. Her life has always been filled with unravelling balls of yarn and needles. She is not afraid of colours and always comes up with bold and exciting colour combinations. Her work is greatly inspired by her roots in Eastern Europe. She takes pride of working with yarn and fibre coming from mulesing free sources.
Alongside that Dina’s boutique offers a large range of Knitpro, Lykke, HiyaHiya, Muud, Clover, Knitting Barber and Dharma products.

Dystopic Fibre
Beginning in 2020, Dystopic Fibre began with a bunch of science fiction references and has developed into a love of folklore, fairytales and fantasy inspirations. The colourways on offer vary from deep wearable neutral tones to bright confident colour pops.
Jon, the dyer, loves talking about colour combinations and working out how to fit a theme or idea into choices of skeins and textures. Having only worn black before knitting, Jon loves the exploration of colour through his yarns especially when the result tells a story or captures a feeling.

Ethel and Joan
Ethel and Joan is a handmade haberdashery and accessory business. Everything I sell is made by hand from the mould all the way to the finished product by Louise, the owner and maker. I offer a range of colourful vintage inspired products, which because of the way I produce them it offers a unique way to finish a garment or outfit. The business is named after my nans Ethel and Joan, as it was their haberdashery I used to make my first moulds. Also they’re both very strong characters, but in very different ways. Let’s just say one’s favourite drink is tea, the other’s is vodka. That’s why they are the perfect namesake for my shop, as I want to make and sell products full of character.

Henny Penny Makes
Colourful yarn and having fun are at the heart of everything I do and I firmly believe that every part of crafting should be a pleasure, whether that’s through your choice of yarn base, colour or the tools you’re using.
I enjoy finding unusual and interesting patterns for both knitters and crocheters to inspire their next project and the best part for me is getting the chance to chat with them and find out what they love so I can help them select the perfect colour combinations. As a trained colour therapist, colour and its benefits for wellbeing are always important to me.
My hand dyed yarns come in a range of sizes from 3g embroidery threads and 5g scrappy bobbins up to 120g sock sets so that everyone can find something they love and within their budget. I have a variety of yarn bases available and I have a good selection of undyed yarns to combine with the colours and make them pop. I create different mini bundles to give plenty of options for fun (from small gnome bundles to large rainbow ones) and I also make kits for my own simple patterns to encourage new crafters.

Lammermuir Wool
We sell Shetland and blended yarn from our own small flock of Shetland sheep and other local small flocks. Our own flock has been slaughter-free since 2020.
We have started to work on a wider basis with local commercial sheep-farmers, to help them to demonstrate that their fleeces have a value and we are currently trying to crowd-fund this project whereby donors pre-order the new yarn.
We run our own flock on a low-intervention basis, demonstrating the links between healthy land, happy sheep and great quality yarn.
We aim to keep our yarns affordable – so that people can buy enough yarn to make things they can wear which will become heritage items.
