We’re committed to making the show as accessible, inclusive and representative of the crafting community as possible.
In practical terms this means:
Accessibility: Venue
– accessible venue with step-free access and all activities on one level
– 300+ free parking spaces with blue badge parking near the entrance and space for coaches and vans
– tram stop at the venue
– 3.5m (11.5ft) wide aisles as a minimum
Accessibility: Mobility support
– assistance dogs welcomed
– space for mobility scooters and powered chairs
– several accessible toilets, including a Changing Places bathroom
– Carer tickets available
– different types of seating and lots of it
Accessibility: Sensory support
– quiet room away from the main show area with dim lights and comfy seating
– high ceilings to diffuse noise
– light coverings to reduce harshness
– hot and cold food options which cater to all diets and preferences
Inclusivity: Vendor Applications
supporting and encouraging vendors and workshop tutors from marginalised groups. This starts with being super clear about our values, and includes working with accessibility groups, initiatives such as BIPOC in Fiber and donating to charities for marginalised and under-represented communities.
Inclusivity: At the show
making sure that BIPOC and LGBTQ+ members of our community in particular feel welcome and safe, by making it clear that no discrimination, however covert, will be tolerated. Vendors and workshop tutors will need to accept our no-discrimination policy before the show and it will be made clear on our social media channels and in signs at the venue for visitors. Anyone who can’t respect that will be unwelcome in any part of the show.
Inclusivity: Products and pricing
during selection of vendors and products we work to ensure there are products across as many fibre types, crafts and price ranges as possible. Early bird tickets are offered to give the best value and lowest priced tickets we can, and free carer tickets are available at all times.

We’ve been running The Wool Monty since 2019, and each year is bigger, better and more fun. That’s mostly thanks to the brilliant vendors and visitors who come together to make the weekend the highlight of the year!
